The article dealt with a four-letter word — sometimes called “the C word” — many people consider offensive. Written by free-lancer Lisa Bertagnoli, it explored whether the word was becoming more acceptable, citing the opinions of professors and writers. It bore the headline, “You c-nt say that (or can you?),” and covered two-thirds of the front page of the Woman News section.
