Get ready for the crackdown. Congress is thinking of funding research on porn addiction in the hopes of further regulating its distribution. The problem I have with this, is that everybody involved has already pre-determined the outcome of this research. Here’s a perfect example:

Judith Reisman, a vocal critic of the Kinsey Institute and the field of sexology, suggested Congress require police officers to gather evidence of pornography at crime scenes to further research.

So we might end up finding out that 80% (just a made up #) of homes w/ domestic violence reports had porn in them. And that’ll be presented as evidence that porn leads to domestic violence. Never mind the possibility that there is porn in the homes of 80% all married/co-habitated couples.

But just by the nature of their data collection, they won’t know that 2nd piece of information – and they probably don’t want to know it either because it might undercut their claims.
