China has shut down almost 600 porn websites since September. As bad as we sometimes think of the anti-porn laws in the US, it could be a whole lot worse.

Paris Hilton is in an upcoming movie called Bottoms Up with Jay Mewes or Jay and Silent Bob fame. You can see the trailer for it here.

For hating her, Paris sure looks alot like Nicole Richie in this clip.

There are cracks in the walls of sexuality in India as they start to realize that they are missing out on the big wide world of sex toys. Current law in India makes it illegal to use sex toys.

Shedworks, uncommon scenes.

At Maxim UK, Jennifer Ellison is the covergirl this month (pix below), and Danica McKellar (Winnie from The Wonder Years) is all grown up, and hot.

Here is some more information on the iPod downloadable porn clips from Adult DVD Empire. Looks like they are pricing it at $2.95 per scene right now. With an average full movie being 5-8 scenes, that seems reasonable. That would equate to $14.75 – $23.60 for an entire DVDs worth of content.

2257 appears to be on its deathbed. In a ruling today, the judge basically threw out all the record-keeping requirements that were being put on ‘secondary producers’ (such as this website), and by the logic used by the judge, a properly structured adult industry may have very little information to track beyond what it already does (drivers license, SSN of all performers)

…a content producer which does not maintain its own websites but merely sells content to others is required to keep 2257 records of the performers it hires, but the webmasters who post that material on the Web are not. Further, in such a situation, the content producer is not required to keep lists of any URLs, since none of the sites on which the materials appear are under its control, and the webmasters, who are not “producers” under this ruling, also are not required to keep lists of the URLs where the material appears, nor are they required to keep the identification records.

I’ll let this whole thing play out a bit more, the govt is sure to appeal, but it looks like I may be able to start posting hardcore pix again without fear of getting thrown in jail for bad record keeping.

Yet more goings on in the 2257 case. It’d be nice to get an independent lawyer’s opinion of all this, since the only real explanations are coming from the Justice Department and the adult industry lawyers. The more I read about this case, the less likely it seems that the laws will survive this legal challenge, but that may very well be because of the source of the information that I’m reading – the adult industry.

Adult DVD Empire has added UMD porn (for the Sony PSP) to their offerings with the first title being Virtual Lap Dances.

Slutster is a virtual porn magazine that your character can purchase within the Second Life role-playing-game. [Just noticed that Fleshbot has a bit more details.]

Jessica Simpson is going to be cast as a Bond girl in the new installment, Casino Royale. If she has more than 2 lines, this movie is going to suck worse than the last few Bond movies.

They should have gone after Tarantino when he was interested.

How mainstream is porn? In the Fashion section of the NY Times, Cathy Horyn is suggesting that Tom Ford (a former Gucci designer) should be making high-class porn movies. Would the NY Times have even joked about that a few years ago?

A year ago, while in Los Angeles to interview Mr. Ford about his life after Gucci, I said he ought to forget about directing feature films and instead make high-class porn movies with the sparkling dialogue of Billy Wilder. My thought was that Mr. Ford, with his clear aesthetic and record at Gucci, was just the person to legitimize porn (or at least take the grime off it) and that women would watch something that blended explicit sex with great clothes and sophisticated humor.

A crazy woman in New Mexico got a restraining order against David Letterman after claiming that he harasses her thru his TV show.

I can’t believe the judge didn’t just throw this woman out of court.

The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that group sex in swingers clubs is A-OK.

Group sex between consenting adults is neither prostitution nor a threat to society, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled on Wednesday, dismissing arguments that the sometimes raucous activities of so-called “swingers” clubs were dangerous.

“Attitudes in themselves are not crimes, however deviant they may be or disgusting they may appear,” the judges said, noting that no one had been pressured to have sex or had paid for sex in either of the cases.

“The autonomy and liberty of members of the public was not affected by unwanted confrontation with the sexual activity in question only those already disposed to this sort of sexual activity were allowed to participate and watch,” they said.

Rotten Tomatoes has put up their worst movies of 2005, and somehow I managed to not see any of these films, though I did want to go see Domino (and I’ll probably rent it despite its appearance on this list). No suprise that the list also includes a film that featured Paris Hilton, House of Wax.
