Me and the Mrs. went to see V for Vendetta last night, and it lived up to every bit of hype I’ve bought into about it over the past year or so. The story is very much styled after the generalities of George Orwell’s 1984 (in fact, the High Chancellor in Vendetta is John Hurt, the same guy who played main character Winston Smith in 1984).

There was a suprising lack of action in this movie (for an action film), but the story itself was compelling enough that it wasn’t really missed. This will be a must-own DVD for me, I’d give it a 9/10 stars.
