Danny Boyle, the director behind Trainspotting & 28 Days Later is going to be making the ‘sequel’ to Trainspotting based on the Irvine Welch novel, Porno. I put sequel in quotes because the only way this qualifies as a sequel is because it uses the same characters – its not really a continuation of the previous storyline.
I read Porno when it was released back in 2003 and really enjoyed it. The basic plot line is that the guys from Trainspotting get back together again to make a porn movie to try and get rich. Its a much funnier story than Trainspotting, and as long as they get the whole cast back together again, should be worth seeing.

Perhaps the most interesting adult coffe table book ever – The Pop-up Book of Sex. Its also great for those that have short attention spans as it has less than 20 pages.

Just flipping thru Amazon this morning and ran across The Scorpion’s Sweet Venom: The Diary of a Brazilian Call Girl. This girl was a prostitute for 3 years in Brazil and initially published alot of her stories online, ala Jessica Cutler. From what I can tell, this book is just a compilation and repackaging of her original online entries with some other narratives added.

Pink Box: Inside Japan’s Sex Clubs is a book of photography that takes a look at the world of commercial sex in Japan. Outside of America, there isn’t any place that I find more interesting than Japan. There is such blend of tradition and technology and fetish that its just hard to fathom how it all grew out of the same culture.

I failed to mention this when it was released a couple weeks ago, but Stephanie Klein has a new book out called Straight Up and Dirty: A Memoir. Its about her having to re-enter the dating world after finding out that her husband cheated on her.

The reviews at amazon are pretty mixed, but everyone that has a blog has haters, so alot of the negative reviews need to be taken with a grain of salt.
